Musique Fazh is a growing children's music education company focused on developing confident, skilled young musicians through structured instruction, consistent practice, performance opportunities, and clear learning pathways.
We are looking for a strong, dependable Classroom Lead who can take ownership of the learning environment and ensure our group music sessions run with structure, energy, and professionalism.
This is not simply a music tutoring position.
We need someone who is comfortable leading a room, working with children, coordinating tutors, maintaining classroom standards, and following an established teaching system.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As Classroom Lead, you will:
- Lead the overall flow and organization of assigned group music sessions.
- Ensure students are focused, engaged, and working on their assigned learning objectives.
- Maintain classroom discipline and redirect disruptive behaviour appropriately.
- Ensure tutors are actively teaching and supporting their assigned students.
- Organize students according to their skill levels and learning goals.
- Keep transitions between activities organized and efficient.
- Ensure the established lesson structure and curriculum are being followed.
- Observe the room and step in proactively when something is not working.
- Capture required student progress/performance videos during sessions.
- Provide brief post-session feedback on what went well, challenges observed, and anything requiring management attention.
- Communicate professionally with parents when necessary.
- Help create a positive, high-standard environment where students can learn and improve.
Who We're Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Are confident leading groups of children.
- Naturally take initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- Can maintain authority while remaining respectful and encouraging.
- Are highly organized and dependable.
- Notice problems quickly and take appropriate action.
- Can hold both students and team members accountable to expectations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally.
- Can follow established systems, procedures, and curriculum.
- Remain composed when a classroom becomes busy or challenging.
- Take ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
- Are comfortable receiving feedback and being held to measurable standards.
Experience in education, children's programs, camps, recreation, coaching, classroom management, team leadership, or music education is highly valuable.
Music experience is an asset, but strong leadership and classroom-management ability are essential.
This Role May NOT Be For You If
This position may not be the right fit if you:
- Prefer waiting for detailed instructions before taking action.
- Are uncomfortable correcting disruptive behaviour.
- Struggle to lead or direct other people.
- Prefer working independently rather than taking responsibility for an entire classroom environment.
- Become overwhelmed when several things require attention at once.
- Are looking for a casual position where expectations are minimal.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Classroom Lead should be able to run an assigned session so that:
- Students know what they are working on.
- Tutors know who and what they are responsible for.
- Distractions are addressed quickly.
- The classroom remains organized.
- Students receive meaningful instruction.
- Required progress documentation is completed.
- Management does not need to be physically present for the session to operate effectively.
Schedule
This is a part-time position primarily during evenings and weekends at Musique Fazh program locations in Winnipeg.
Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to consistently arrive on time for assigned sessions.
