As an Animal Care Attendant, you will play an essential role in supporting our veterinary team while ensuring our patients receive the comfort, care, and attention they deserve.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with a variety of patient care duties and clinical tasks.
- Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients, including feeding, walking, monitoring comfort, and offering gentle reassurance.
- Assist with patient preparation and recovery from anesthesia under the direction of the veterinary team.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures, including radiography (X-rays), patient restraint, and prescription refill preparation.
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and comfortable patient housing and treatment areas.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and supportive experience for both patients and their families.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, disinfecting equipment, and restocking supplies.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment.
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary team, providing support wherever needed to ensure excellent patient care.
- Remain calm, organized, and compassionate while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Adapt to changing priorities and assist with a variety of daily hospital responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, kennel, or other animal care setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for animal care and client service.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and safely restrain animals of varying sizes.
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to remain composed in busy or stressful situations.
