Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Carpenter Helper to assist skilled carpenters in a variety of construction and renovation projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in carpentry, woodworking, and related trades. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, capable of performing physically demanding tasks, and possess a strong work ethic. The Carpenter Helper plays a vital role in supporting the successful completion of projects by preparing materials, assisting with installations, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Duties
- Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools. (residential construction)
- Support the installation of framing, cabinets, flooring, siding, roofing, and other building components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to aid in project execution.
- Help with concrete forming, rebar installation, and restoration projects as needed.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely throughout the job site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
Experience
- Prior construction experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and basic construction techniques is advantageous.
- Experience in concrete forming, cabinetry installation, flooring installation, roofing, siding, or woodworking is beneficial.
- Candidates with handyman experience or electrical/plumbing background are encouraged to apply.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods is essential.
