As a cashier within our garden centre sales team, you have previous in-person customer service, sales and plant maintenance and want to join an established team, where you are responsible for ensuring our customers are cashed out efficiently and correctly. You will help match and merchandise our products (women's fashion, seasonal home decor, houseplants, perennials, shrubs, seasonal flowers & more) to the perfect person, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the sales floor.
Core Responsibilities and Skills:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to our customers in person, on the phone and electronically
- Ensure the cash out process is correct, and accurate
- Helping the customer to make an informed choice for their needs
- Loading and unloading of materials, product stocking and maintenance
- Willing to help maintain plant stock, hard goods, home decor and the overall sales floor
- Encourage and develop strong working team relationships through collaboration, physical assistance and idea development.
- Ability to merchandise and cross merchandise products
- Maintain good communication with other departments
- Able to safely operate and understand sales technology and equipment on hand
- A positive attitude, demonstrating integrity, and capable of building exceptional relationships
- Take initiative, constantly contributes without being asked
Physical and Working Environment Requirements:
- Able to stand, walk, kneel, for extended periods on a variety of surfaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently
- Ability to perform repeated movements such as kneeling, twisting, bending, crouching etc.
- Ability to comfortably work on a ladder or step stool
- Comfortable working in greenhouses, and other seasonal environments, including rain, humidity and sun
- Please note: Must be able to work week day, evening and weekend shifts
This opportunity can be part time or full time and for the right candidate, include extended career pathways and tuition offset.
