We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated Software Tester to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for manually testing our security software and systems to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. While your primary focus will be on manual testing, experience with automated testing tools is a plus as it can help streamline our testing processes.
This role requires consistent on-site presence at our Burnaby office. Therefore, candidates must be currently residing in, or willing to relocate to, the Greater Vancouver Area at their own expense prior to their start date. Applicants must also possess valid legal authorization to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Conduct manual tests to ensure the software meets security and functional requirements.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and inconsistencies in the software performance.
- Collaborate with the development team to discuss test results and resolve issues.
- Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Monitor the effectiveness of testing and make improvements to the testing process.
- Stay informed on new technologies and testing strategies; apply this knowledge to improve our testing practices.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for software improvements and enhancements.
- Assist in the creation of training materials for end users based on software specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Software Tester, with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
- Experience testing applications on both iOS and Android platforms, including handling OS version differences, screen sizes, and hardware variations.
- Familiarity with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Experience in security system software testing is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of automated testing tools is a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
