Job Summary
As a contractor to our client (William Academy) we are seeking dependable and motivated Cafeteria Kitchen Help to join our team for a short term (4-6 weeks) summer school program.
We are required to provide 3 set food services per day, 7 days a week over this term with exceptions and variations that meet the needs of the clients summer program itinerary. Must have a strong work ethic and stamina and be willing to work a flexible daily schedule that is not continuous and includes time off between services. This is a Hot,fast paced time sensitive food service environment that requires following assigned duties and supporting the set up and tear down of every individual service.
The ideal candidate will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly as assigned
- Support cooking activities, including basic food handling and safety procedures
- Serve meals to students and staff in an efficient and courteous manner
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with health regulations
- Follow proper food safety protocols during all stages of meal preparation and service
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth cafeteria operations
- Help with dishwashing and sanitation tasks to uphold hygiene standards
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with serving, food preparation, cooking, and food handling is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a hot, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food service operations
- MUST HAVE reliable transportation
Pay: $17.60 per hour
