The Faculty of Arts invites applications for a Tenure-Track Clinical Instructor position for the Psychology Training Clinic within the Department of Psychology. Registered Doctoral Psychologists with recent clinical supervision experience in a psychology training clinic are invited to apply.
The Psychology Training Clinic, located on the University of Regina campus, has a reception area, Director’s office, multiple interview rooms with one-way mirrors and observation areas, a secure file room, student workspace, and state-of-the-art video and audio recording equipment. The program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Regina is committed to the scientist-practitioner model and is accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association. The Department maintains good relations with a number of health care, research, and other educational facilities both within Regina and throughout the province.
Position Duties:
- Overseeing day-to-day clinic operations including intake, service delivery, scheduling, student and staff coordination, and record management
- Ensuring compliance with ethical, professional, and accreditation standards (e.g., CPA, APPIC) in all clinical activities
- Providing strategic planning and leadership to align the clinic’s mission with the goals of the MSc and PhD programs and university
- Collaborating with the Director of Clinical training to promote service quality, training excellence, and operational efficiency
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding for student trainees and supervisors
- Managing the clinic’s electronic health record system, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Maintaining documentation and reporting on student clinical hours, services delivered, and client demographics for accreditation purposes related to the Clinic
- Supporting faculty engagement in clinical supervision
- Collaboration with external partners (i.e., referral sites)
- Providing administrative oversight for clinic budgeting, materials procurement, and facilities management
- Addressing client concerns, ensuring client satisfaction, and responding to clinical or administrative emergencies
- Working collaboratively with clinic personnel to ensure high-quality service delivery and training
- Ensuring clinic operations meet risk management protocols and privacy legislation requirements
- Supervising direct psychological services and practicum training opportunities for MSc students (and possibly PhD students)
- Opportunities for participation in other program activities
- Service to the Department of Psychology, Faculty, and University is also required
Position Requirements
- Registered Psychologist in Saskatchewan. Maintenance of registration as a Doctoral Psychologist in the province of Saskatchewan will be a condition of employment.
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or related field (PsyD or PhD) from a CPA- or APA-accredited program
- At least 5 years of clinical experience, including experience supervising MSc and PhD-level clinical psychology trainees in a psychology training clinic
- Strong administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a training-focused environment
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Lab Instructor Salary Range As per the Collective Agreement Status Tenure-Track Work Hours
Day hours required. Some early evening depending on offering of clinical services.
