The Maintenance Planner will play a vital role in the administration of day to day operations within the Maintenance department. Emphasis will be placed on vendor management, work order management and general organization of the maintenance operations. This is a full-time position that reports into the Maintenance Manager while working a 40-hour work week (Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 3:30pm)

Salary Range: $36 - $43/hour
- Plan and layout work assignments as advised by the maintenance management team.
- Assist with developing a planned maintenance schedule
- Control of inventory and requisitioning of new and spare parts.
- Handle work orders in the Manufacturing Execution System
- Optimize preventative maintenance work orders – detail, condition-based versus time-based component replacement, adjust frequency, quantify specifications, etc.
- Review the documented findings of preventative and predictive work orders assessments and develop and schedule corrective work orders
- Identify and detail any safety requirements in the job – permits, special procedures, etc.
- Participate and support Health & Safety, Environmental Management Systems, 5S and energy conservation initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a plastics manufacturing industry is a definite asset
- Solid understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management systems (CMMS) or software programs
- Demonstrated understanding of industrial maintenance operations and equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Proven knowledge and experience with 5S methodology
- Above average planning, organizational, and scheduling skills
- Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices.

Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (50-100lbs), standing and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow, bring considerable stresses to this position.
