Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Food Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest services, ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling responsibilities
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Assist in food preparation when necessary, supporting kitchen staff as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, tables, and service stations in accordance with sanitation standards
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables promptly during busy periods
- Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Support team members in maintaining a smooth operation during shifts
Requirements
- Smart serve certified and Ontario Food Handler trained
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required
- Knowledge of POS systems is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Basic math skills for handling bills and cash transactions accurately
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting with excellent time management skills
- Kitchen experience or hospitality background is a plus
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude towards guests and team members
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
