Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Milker to join our team on the farm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the milking of dairy cows, ensuring the health and well-being of the livestock, and maintaining a clean and efficient milking environment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to animal care.
Responsibilities
- Perform milking duties using both manual and automated milking equipment.
- Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation practices are followed in the milking parlor.
- Monitor the health of cows during milking and report any abnormalities or concerns to management.
- Maintain and clean milking equipment and facilities regularly.
- Assist with feeding, watering, and caring for livestock as needed.
- Operate farm machinery safely and efficiently when required.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct heavy lifting as necessary to support farm operations.
Experience
- Previous experience in dairy farming or livestock handling is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with farm machinery operation is a plus, along with mechanical knowledge for basic repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift.
- Basic math skills for recording milk production data accurately.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools is beneficial for maintenance tasks.
