Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our custom cabinetry and millwork team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our new 5-axis Biesse CNC machining center while utilizing Mozaik Cabinet Software to prepare, modify, and manage production files for custom cabinetry and millwork projects.
This position is ideal for someone who combines strong CNC expertise with a solid understanding of cabinet manufacturing, production planning, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Programming & Operations
- Operate, set up, and optimize a 5-axis Biesse CNC machine.
- Utilize Mozaik Cabinet Software to generate, modify, and manage CNC production files.
- Review cabinet designs and adjust manufacturing details to reflect site measurements and project requirements.
- Generate nested sheets, machining operations, and production outputs through Mozaik.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and finished part quality.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment and compliance with shop safety standards.
Production Engineering
- Convert approved designs into production-ready manufacturing packages.
- Prepare and verify cut lists, panel optimization reports, and CNC programs.
- Generate door orders, hardware requirements, and material takeoffs using Mozaik.
- Coordinate revisions resulting from site measurements, design changes, and client requests.
- Identify manufacturing conflicts and propose practical production solutions.
Project & Timeline Management
- Coordinate CNC production schedules to support installation and project deadlines.
- Track progress of multiple jobs simultaneously and ensure manufacturing milestones are met.
- Communicate production status with management, drafters, project managers, and installation teams.
- Assist in planning shop workflow to maximize productivity and machine utilization.
Materials & Product Coordination
- Prepare and manage material orders for sheet goods, hardware, doors, and specialty products.
- Coordinate deliveries to align with production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages before they impact production.
- Assist in sourcing and curating materials, hardware, and specialty products for custom projects.
Quality Control
- Ensure all manufactured components meet company standards and project specifications.
- Conduct final reviews of production files before machining.
- Continuously improve production processes, CNC efficiencies, and manufacturing methods.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cabinet manufacturing or architectural millwork.
- Strong working knowledge of Mozaik Cabinet Software.
- Experience operating CNC machinery in a woodworking environment.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and millwork details.
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction methods and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred
- Experience with Biesse CNC equipment, particularly 5-axis machining centers.
- Experience taking and verifying field measurements.
- Experience preparing cut lists, door orders, hardware orders, and material procurement packages.
- Knowledge of production scheduling and workflow management.
- Experience with high-end residential cabinetry and custom millwork projects.
- Background in material, finish, and hardware selection and specification.
