Pay: CA$60,000.00 - CA$70,000.00 per year
About the role:
We are looking for a motivated and organized Junior Estimator to support our estimating team in tracking and updating tenders, takeoffs for quoting jobs and coordinating job estimates. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders daily, including liaising with clients, and collaborating with internal team members. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their career in estimating within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of tender website postings for new projects
- Conduct a high-level review of all incoming tenders
- Create and maintain all bid folders with all updates/addendums to plans and specifications
- Coordinate submission of accurate, well-organized estimates on time required for job completion
- Support costing review such as labour rates, material pricing, and project costs
- Support with smaller scale takeoffs, job showings, and estimates
- Coordinate with fellow estimators, project managers and operations to ensure proper project handover
- Schedule tender opportunities, job showings, site visits, and client meetings as required
- Maintain and update bid list and calendar for bid deadlines/job showings
- Other duties as assigned
Profile Requirements:
Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Minimum 1-3 years in Estimating, Estimating Coordinating, or a related field within the construction industry;
- Estimating experience in the construction sector is considered an asset;
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other operational systems as required;
- Ability to utilize estimating software is considered an asset;
- Enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Valid Canadian residency and/or work permit
- Bilingual in both French & English is required
Work Setting: Primarily an in-office position involving extended periods of sitting, with opportunities to move around throughout the day.
Physical Capability: Site visits requiring standing/walking with use of required personal protective equipment.
