19-015 A temporary (with possibility of continuing) .5 FTE Counseling position is available Southgate Middle School, effective September 03, 2019 to June 26, 2020.

Please note there is a possibility that part time positions may be combined with other part time positions.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

A Master’s Degree in Counseling (must include a 300 hour supervised practicum at an appropriate level);
Successful teaching experience at the Middle and High School level;
A good understanding of the etiology of substance abuse and a thorough knowledge of successful prevention strategies;
Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group counseling services to students;
Demonstrated knowledge of classroom management techniques;
Experience and demonstrated skill in helping students with social and learning difficulties;
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, administrators and community agencies; and
Proficiency with related computer software and technology.
