Position Overview
We are looking for a results-driven Omni-Channel Sales Manager – Retail & E-Commerce to lead and grow our B2C sales across major retail, e-commerce, marketplace, and direct-to-consumer channels.
This is a sales-driven role for an individual who has a proven track record of generating revenue, acquiring and growing retail accounts, negotiating with buyers, launching products, and increasing sales through both physical and digital channels.
The successful candidate will take ownership of sales growth across existing and new channels, including national retailers, e-commerce platforms, online marketplaces, dealers, distributors, and DTC channels.
The ideal candidate is a hunter and account grower who can identify opportunities, open doors, negotiate commercial terms, develop customer relationships, and ultimately deliver measurable sales and profit growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Growth & Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed annual B2C revenue and profitability targets.
- Take ownership of sales performance across retail, e-commerce, marketplace, dealer, distributor, and DTC channels.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and aggressively pursue new retail and e-commerce accounts.
- Develop and manage account-specific sales plans to increase revenue, product listings, market penetration, and sell-through.
- Build sales forecasts, budgets, pipelines, and account plans aligned with company objectives.
- Analyze sales performance and take corrective action when targets are not being achieved.
- Identify opportunities to increase average order value, product assortment, sales volume, and customer lifetime value.
2. Retail Account Acquisition & Development
- Identify, prospect, and secure new national, regional, and specialty retail accounts.
- Develop relationships with buyers, category managers, merchants, purchasing teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Present products, pricing, programs, and business proposals to prospective retail partners.
- Negotiate pricing, margins, promotions, product placement, listings, annual programs, and commercial agreements.
- Expand existing accounts by introducing new products, categories, collections, and programs.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts and develop action plans to accelerate growth.
3. E-Commerce & Marketplace Sales
- Drive sales growth through major e-commerce platforms, online marketplaces, and DTC channels.
- Manage commercial relationships with e-commerce and marketplace partners.
- Develop strategies to improve online sales, conversion, product assortment, pricing, promotions, and sell-through.
- Work closely with marketing and digital teams to support online promotional campaigns and product launches.
- Monitor marketplace performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.
- Use sales data and consumer trends to optimize product and channel strategies.
4. Omni-Channel Strategy
Manage and grow sales across multiple channels, including:
- National and regional retailers
- E-commerce retailers
- Online marketplaces
- Direct-to-consumer channels
- Dealers and distributors
- Specialty retail
- Commercial and B2C hybrid channels
- Develop channel strategies that maximize sales while minimizing channel conflict.
- Identify opportunities to expand product distribution across physical and digital channels.
- Monitor consumer purchasing behavior and market trends to identify new growth opportunities.
- Ensure pricing, assortment, promotions, and product positioning are appropriate for each channel.
5. Product Launches & Category Expansion
- Lead the commercial side of new product launches and new category introductions.
- Identify market gaps and recommend new products, categories, and product extensions.
- Work with product development, purchasing, marketing, and operations teams to bring products to market successfully.
- Develop launch plans, pricing strategies, sales targets, and channel strategies.
- Monitor launch performance and recommend adjustments based on market response.
- Expand existing product categories within current and new accounts.
6. Pricing, Promotions & Commercial Management
- Develop and negotiate customer pricing, promotional programs, volume incentives, and annual business plans.
- Monitor competitive pricing and market positioning.
- Work with management and finance to ensure pricing decisions support company profitability objectives.
- Evaluate promotional performance and ROI.
- Identify opportunities to improve gross margin while maintaining competitive market positioning.
7. Market & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor competitor pricing, products, promotions, distribution, and market activity.
- Identify emerging consumer trends, new market segments, and potential retail opportunities.
- Analyze customer and sales data to identify growth opportunities.
- Provide management with actionable recommendations for market expansion, product development, and channel strategy.
8. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Logistics, Finance, Purchasing, Product Development, and Customer Service.
- Communicate customer requirements and commercial commitments clearly to internal teams.
- Coordinate sales forecasts with inventory planning and purchasing.
- Work with operations and logistics teams to ensure customer orders and launches are executed successfully.
- Help resolve pricing, inventory, delivery, product, and customer issues.
- Ensure commercial commitments are aligned with company capabilities, inventory availability, and profitability objectives.
9. Sales Reporting & Performance Management
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, account plans, and CRM records.
- Prepare monthly sales reports and sales performance updates.
- Track key performance indicators including:
- Revenue
- Gross margin
- New account acquisition
- Sales pipeline
- Product listings
- Sell-through
- Average order value
- Promotional performance
- Account growth
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans.
- Provide management with regular updates on opportunities, risks, and market developments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience in retail, e-commerce, consumer products, furniture, home improvement, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Proven experience acquiring new retail accounts and growing existing accounts.
- Experience negotiating directly with retail buyers, category managers, merchants, and purchasing teams.
- Experience managing sales across both physical retail and digital/e-commerce channels.
- Strong understanding of retail sales cycles, merchandising, promotions, pricing, margins, and sell-through.
- Strong commercial negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and business-planning capabilities.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel as required for customer meetings, trade shows, retailer meetings, and industry events.
