The Trent Hills Family Health Team (THFHT) is an interdisciplinary primary health care model with clinic locations in Campbellford, Warkworth and Hastings. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, health promoters, and mental health providers offer comprehensive, primary care to support the health and wellbeing of our communities.
We are currently seeking a compassionate, organized and professional individual to be the first point of contact for our patients, to fill a full-time position at our Campbellford Office.
Key Responsibilities
The Receptionist/Front Desk Clerk will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations, patient scheduling and administrative support functions. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manor.
- Answering and directing incoming telephone calls and voice mails.
- Booking appointments and relaying messages.
- Scheduling, confirming and rescheduling patient appointments.
- Registering patients and updating demographics.
- Handling patient inquires and directing concerns appropriately
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with privacy legislation and organizational policies.
- Performing general administrative and clerical duties as required.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Secondary school diploma required; post-secondary education in Medical Administration or a related field is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Strong computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (e.g., PS Suite, Ocean) preferred
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Efficient at prioritizing, organizing and multi-tasking, in a fast-paced work environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and organizational quality improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality and professionalism.
Pay: $22.00-$24.50 per hour
