Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Dispatcher to work with lead dispatcher within our logistics and supply chain network. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, expertise in transportation management systems, and a solid understanding of freight, shipping, and receiving processes. This role is vital in ensuring efficient dispatching, optimal freight movement The Senior Dispatcher will play a key role in maintaining high standards of service, accuracy in data entry, and effective analysis to improve operational workflows.
Duties
- Daily dispatch operations using transportation management systems and multi-line phone systems to coordinate freight pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure timely processing of pickups and deliveries .
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via phone etiquette and professional communication skills to resolve issues promptly.
- Analyze freight data to identify trends, optimize routes, reduce delays, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Assist in the planning of transportation schedules, monitor shipment statuses, and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipping & receiving logs, and related documentation for audit purposes.
- Reconciling BOLs with dispatched loads to ensure accurate documentation and invoice generation
Experience
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems (TMS),
- Strong background in supply chain logistics, freight management, shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in typing and managing multi-line phone systems.
- Demonstrated analysis skills to interpret logistics data for process improvements.
- Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with clients and carriers.
- Over 15 years experience in LTL freight is a must
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
