Job Title: Winter Maintenance Foreman (Equipment Operation)
Reports to: Winter Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Winter Maintenance Foreman (Equipment Operation) oversees the operation of various winter maintenance equipment, including sidewalk clearing machines, material trucks, loaders, graders, and single-truck plows. The foreman ensures that all equipment is deployed efficiently and that routes are completed within the City of Brampton's guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the operation of all non-tandem equipment, including loaders, graders, sidewalk clearing machines, and salt trucks
- Coordinate equipment assignments for sidewalk clearing, court plowing, and material application across designated routes
- Ensure proper calibration of equipment for salt and sand application and oversee the safe and effective use of loaders and graders in local road and court clearing
- Monitor the completion of assigned routes using GPS/AVL systems, ensuring operators follow assigned routes and complete tasks within the specified time frames
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, ensuring all machines are properly maintained and safe to operate.
- Ensure operators complete accurate log sheets, detailing material usage, time in/out, and route completion status
- Address any operational issues, equipment breakdowns, or route difficulties by communicating with the snow office and Winter Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in winter maintenance equipment operation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of operating sidewalk machines, loaders, graders, and material trucks.
- Familiarity with equipment calibration and material application methods.
- Ability to manage multiple types of equipment operations under pressure.
