Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Shingler/Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be an essential part of the crew responsible for installing roofing shingles and supporting various construction activities on-site. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in construction while contributing to high-quality building projects. Duties
- Installation of roofing shingles, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening according to project specifications
- Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and chisels to support roofing and framing tasks
- Perform heavy lifting of materials, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and construction plans to understand project requirements
- Support carpentry tasks, including framing, trimming, and caulking to ensure weatherproofing and finish quality
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris, tools, and excess materials regularly
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements
- Prior experience with construction work or related manual labor roles is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated learners
- Familiarity with hand tools such as hammers, saws, and caulking guns is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and sustain physical activity throughout the workday
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading or willingness to learn on the job
- Experience with carpentry or handyman tasks is a plus but not required
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety awareness
- Reliable transportation to job sites as needed
