Summary:
In this role, you will assist in the construction of wood frame buildings, including agricultural, commercial, and residential structures. You will work as part of a crew to perform various tasks including site preparation, building and installing prefabricated wall panels, floor systems, roof systems, and various architectural details, ensuring that each building is constructed with precision, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with all aspects of wood framing, including building, framing, sheathing, and installing roof, floor, wall and stair systems.
· Operate hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, nail guns, and telehandlers and efficiently.
· Load, unload, and stage building materials at the job site.
· Follow construction plans, drawings, and specifications accurately under the direction of the Crew Leader.
· Maintain a clean and safe worksite by following company safety protocols and OH&S regulations.
· Help erect ladders, scaffolding, and temporary supports as needed.
· Work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites as required.
· Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Qualifications:
· 1 Year + of framing or construction industry experience.
· Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
· Driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
· Able to move and carry construction material and supplies that may weigh upwards of 30kg.
· Understanding construction processes, techniques, and standard practices.
· Ability to interpret architectural/construction drawings.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems alongside teammates and individually.
· Self-motivated and focused, able to work well independently.
· Good communicator, eager to learn.
· Ability to work out of town occasionally.
