Join our team on THE DOGGIE BUS as an Animal Care Attendant and become a vital part of creating a safe, fun and caring environment for the dogs in our care. In this energetic role, you will provide fear free daily care, support, and enrichment to doggies, ensuring their well-being and comfort. You will always work with a senior staff member who will offer support and ongoing training. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for doggies
- Ability to take direction from senior staff members
- Tasks such as, but not limited to; filling water, picking up dog poop, wiping down dogs, cleaning the bus, keeping track of leashes, giving treats
- Handle physical tasks such as but not limited to; heavy lifting, bending, squatting, standing for long periods of time, working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Observe the doggies for signs of illness or distress and report concerns to supervisors promptly
- Engage with doggies through enrichment activities that promote mental stimulation and physical activity
- Maintain accurate records of doggie activities, health updates, and social interactions
Requirements
- Diploma in Animal Care or Veterinary Technician from a recognized college.
- Minimum 1 year work experience in animal care (working with groups of dogs is an asset)
- Understanding of dog behaviour.
- Deep love for dogs.
- Excellent command of the english language; speaking, reading and writing as well as strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members
- Minimum 5 years proven driving experience with a clean driver's abstract.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Competence with videos and social media
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in dog behaviour
- Flexibility to work with short notice (Shifts are are Monday to Friday 6:30am - 1:30pm)
- Willingness to follow safety protocols and adhere to animal handling guidelines set out by TDB
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
