Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and a passion for automotive repair. As an Auto Body Technician, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role requires proficiency in using various hand tools and power tools, as well as the ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage and determine necessary repairs
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform bodywork, including welding and sanding
- Replace or repair damaged parts such as bumpers, fenders, doors and quarter panels
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient workflow in the shop
- Keep work area clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair processes and timelines
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools specific to auto body work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs
- Previous experience working in a auto body shop is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
