Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, and food prep areas by washing, sanitizing, and organizing efficiently.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning supplies to support chefs and cooks.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met at all times.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by ensuring all surfaces and equipment are sanitized and ready for use.
- Help with waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain an environmentally friendly workspace.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and safe handling of kitchen tools.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with basic kitchen operations, including food preparation and cleaning routines.
- Knowledge of proper food handling practices to maintain hygiene standards.
