Commercial Transport Mechanic
Dawson Truck Repairs Ltd is a family-owned and operated commercial truck repair facility, located in Burnaby BC. We are an International Sub-Dealer, which gives us the ability to service Navistar vehicles and parts on a dealership level. In addition, we still provide service and repairs to many different sizes of commercial vehicles, from pickup trucks all the way to cranes.
We are seeking an commercial transport mechanic with experience to join our team. The job, as outlined below, is a full-time position with a choice of either an 8-hour Monday-Friday shift, or a four day 10-hour shift.
Qualifications and Experience
- 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentices – Red Seal is an asset
- Must have class 5 licence – Class 1 is an asset
- Commercial Vehicle Inspector Licence is an asset
- Excellent attitude and capable of working independently or on a team
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Communicates well and is adaptable to high stress environments
- Must have strong time management skills and is extremely well organized
Role & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair gas/diesel vehicles
- Preventative maintenance programs
- Usage of computerized diagnostic equipment and software
- Maintain communication between service advisor and parts department
- Perform inspections as per the CVSE Guidelines
- Must be well-equipped with own tools and safety equipment
