The Machine Operator operates a variety of machinery relevant to the nutraceutical industry. Some of the responsibilities of this role include: teardown, cleaning, setup, operation and troubleshooting. The individual is required to be able to take instruction, work independently or as part of a team to ensure both the quality and quantity of manufactured products, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.
Confidently operate equipment
Clean and setup press machine, accessories and rooms within the standard time
Responsible for conducting pre-operational checks on equipment
Monitor the machine operation and perform in-process check, making adjustments as necessary
Perform troubleshooting during production
Report non-compliance event in timely manner
Perform general maintenance of machinery
Take good care of machine parts and tooling
Accurately complete all paperwork
Ensure proper shift turnover
Ensure good housekeeping around working area
Cover coworker’s break on other machine if requested
Work in other departments or perform other duties if required
Be able to identify hazards on site
Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving
Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions


Mechanically inclined for accurate set up of equipment, troubleshooting and machinery maintenance as well as a good working knowledge of equipment operations
Previous experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or food manufacturing preferred
Knowledge of GMP an asset
Able to speak and read English fluently in order to understand the requirements and goals of the department and follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time as well as bend, crouch and kneel
Demonstrate cooperative, positive and willing attitude, good communication and behavior with co-workers and management
Demonstrate values for productivity and quality
Safety conscious
Organized in work habits
Attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
