The Program Assistant (PA) provides administrative assistance to Managers and other internal clients in support of the delivery of grants and awards for multiple programs within the Research Partnerships Directorate. The PA communicates on a daily basis with external stakeholders, including companies and other government organizations, and organizes the logistics and travel for several ad-hoc evaluation committees that are involved in the peer review process.
Statement of Qualifications
High School Graduation
Experience in providing administrative support services;
Experience with current office technologies and standard software packages;
Experience in client relations;
Experience in grants and contributions funding administration would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of administrative procedures;
Knowledge of NSERC’s policies, programs, and objectives;
General Knowledge of peer review would be considered an asset;
General Knowledge of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act would be considered an asset.
Ability to plan, prioritize, manage and coordinate a high volume of diverse activities under the pressure of tight deadlines;
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, electronic document exchange and database software;
Ability to be proactive within a team environment and work autonomously;
Ability to work well in and adapt to a changing environment;
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
Strategic thinking skills and ability to solve problems.
