POSITION SCOPE
Reporting to the Station Manager and under the direction of the Remedial Manager, the Remedial Supervisor 1 assists in managing the day-to-day field remedial cementing operations on location and at the shop. This position also supports primary cementing activity as needed. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
All Supervisors

Manage and mentor personnel, equipment and materials to ensure they arrive at location on time.

Execute successful cementing jobs according to design/client specification; understand rigging in/out procedures.

Ensure efficient handling of day-to-day operations.
-
Ensure critical tasks are completed on every cementing job, including but not limited to measuring the density of cement using a pressurized scale, collecting samples, utilizing radios on location, blowing down all units and P-tanks after every job.

Communicate effectively with clients and internally with other departments, including Sales and Dispatch.

Work with station management to maintain operation and service standards and assist in leadership of the Station.

Evaluate Bulk Drivers and Operators on weekly maintenance requirements and equipment rebuilding.

Adhere to and enforce company Safety policies and ensure compliance with HSE legislation.

Prepare end of well, end of month, incident, abnormalities, maintenance, logbook, and end of jobs tickets and reports, or other reporting, as required.

Verify load tickets and conduct / participate in incident reporting.

Implement and maintain procedures to ensure high level of service.

Develop and maintain strong external/internal client relationships in support of company values and objectives.

Work with management to improve policy and procedures.
Specific to Remedial Supervisors

Supervise a crew on basic remedial jobs.
-
Demonstrate the ability to operate any two of the core pieces of equipment.
-
Understand slow rate squeeze theory and competently perform operational execution.
-
Understand downhole tools and their operations (i.e. retainers, packers, bridge plugs, etc.) and coil tubing fundamentals (i.e. capacities, burst and collapse pressures, no-go zones around coil tubing equipment, etc.).

Complete Supervisor 1 sections of MAP (Magnum’s internal competency evaluation program).

Supporting primary cementing activities, as needed.
General

Participate in training and development activities.

Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required
-
Valid class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
-
Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, gripping, sitting/driving, walking, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
-
Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
-
Able to be on call 24 hours on 15 days on 6 days off rotational schedule, always remaining fit for duty (subject to change due to market conditions).

Able to work in congested or confined areas, and with exposure to loud noises and vibration.
-
Experience as an oil and gas cementing supervisor and in operating pumpers.

Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate the work of others.

Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Looking For

Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other software, as required.

Experience in the completion of reports.
