About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Intermediate Process Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and execution of oil and gas projects, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
The successful candidate will have experience in upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities, including production, compression, gas processing, liquids pumping and storage, pipelines, and associated infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects from concept development through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operational support.
Engineering Excellence
· Become a core go-to technical expert for our internal team and the clients we serve
· Review technical reports, calculations, design briefs, design drawings, and specifications
· Review project deliverables for accuracy of designs, reports, and studies
· Ensure all engineering work is carried out in accordance with industry codes and standards, accepted industry practices and guidelines, and client expectations.
· Prepare process engineering deliverables including:
o Process simulation models using Aspen HYSYS or Promax.
o Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Design Basis (PDB) documents, and Heat and Material Balances (HMB)
o Equipment and line sizing calculations
o Process datasheets and equipment specifications
o Hydraulic calculations for liquid and gas systems
· Support facility optimization, debottlenecking, and brownfield modifications
· Participate in HAZOPs, PHA studies, LOPA reviews, and design reviews
· Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up
· Coordinate with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical, civil, and structural disciplines
Program Management and Execution
· Support business development efforts and management of client relationships
· Support in coordination of technical staff and assigning of resources to projects
· Support in ensuring project quality is achieved
· Support in gathering client feedback and adjusting processes as required
Leadership and Development
· Use coaching and mentorship tools to develop strong individuals and a cohesive team

Education / Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
· Professional engineer with 5-10+ years of directly relevant experience
· Active registration with APEGA as a P.Eng., with eligibility for APEGS/EGBC registration
· Proficiency with Promax and/or Aspen HYSYS process simulators.
· Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including API, ASME, CSA, and Alberta regulatory requirements.
