Job Overview We are seeking skilled and dedicated Ironworker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining structural steel and sheet metal components across various projects. This role requires competent use of various hand and power tools and basic math skills. The Ironworker will work closely with project managers, and other trades to ensure safety, precision, and quality in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Use rigging equipment and crane operations to lift and position heavy steel components safely.
- Operate power tools such as grinders, drills, and hand tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
- Measure materials accurately using tape measures, and other precision tools.
- Shaping and installation of thin gauge metal trim and other components as specified in project plans.
- Operate manlifts and forklifts for the assembly and installation of pre-engineered steel buildings
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment during all phases of construction.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving steel structures and other secondary elements.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
Qualifications
- Comfortable at heights and familiar with construction laborer role
- Fall Protection Certificate (Required)
- Drivers License (Preferred)
- Ability to operate forklifts, manlifts, power tools, and hand tools safely.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to construction.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting and work at heights.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
