About Our Community Relations Specialist Role

You will have the opportunity to develop, implement and execute on community relations liaison strategy to build and sustain partnerships in the communities in which we operate and to increase our programs/initiatives' visibility and participation. This will involve developing and executing program plans on community events/initiatives, meetings, community forums, conferences, workshops, projects and other activities related to the CAA School Safety Patrol program. You will be responsible for ensuring expert and technical advice and consultation to CAA Manitoba management, stakeholders and partners on community relations and traffic safety issues and policies to maintain CAA Manitoba's role as a trusted safety advocate. In partnership with the manager of Government & Community Relations, you will develop operational plans that guide the focus and objectives of community relations programs. You will respond to all Member, media and public inquiries about community relations activities in a meaningful and timely manner. You will liaise with CAA Club Group’s broader Government & Community Relations team to become familiar with synergies that can impact program partnership opportunities.

Requirements

As a successful candidate you have a post-Secondary Diploma or Degree, such as but not limited to Red River College’s Creative Communications program, University of Winnipeg Public Relations program or a Bachelor's degree with major course work in related curriculum.
Your education is coupled with three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the execution of projects related to community outreach or community programming.
Past work experience in foundations or charitable organizations is an asset.
You will possess strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
You will have a proven track record in building strong relationships and rapport.
You are a charismatic team player who demonstrates understanding of key stakeholder objectives to influence, build persuasive arguments, and gain support to achieve operational goals.
You will have strong project management skills, demonstrated through your ability to assess priorities and meet deadlines while managing multiple activities and projects.
Must be willing to travel within all parts of Manitoba and to Ontario two to three times per year.
