Job Description

The transportation of patients and the distribution of clean soiled material and equipment throughout the hospital.


Receive and record calls via Transport Tracking.
Pick up soiled supplies and equipment.
Transport patients, material, drugs, linen, and equipment throughout the hospital on request.
Complete dispatch report daily.
Perform linen tasks both clean delivery and soiled pickup as assigned.
Exchange oxygen tanks as required.
Meet emergency or unique requests as necessary.
Performs special duties as requested by team leaders and/or manager.


High School education or equivalent.
Crisis Patient Intervention (CPI).
Previous related experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
Seek help and accepts guidance when a gap in competence is identified.
Promotes and assists with activities for Quality Improvement.
Continually seeks ongoing education.
Computer literacy in a Windows environment preferred.
Working Knowledge of PageMaker, Access, Quattro Pro, and Scheduling Systems preferred.
Proven attendance record.
Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
