Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet Best Western Premier cleanliness and brand standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to assist with room cleaning when required based on occupancy or staffing levels.
Hours may fluctuate depending on seasonality and operational needs.
Job Duties
- Supervise daily housekeeping operations and team performance
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure brand standards are met
- Provide coaching, feedback, and support to room attendants and housepersons
- Assist with cleaning guest rooms when required due to occupancy levels
- Coordinate daily priorities with Front Office and Maintenance
- Monitor linen, amenities, and supply inventory
- Ensure proper chemical handling, safety practices, and WHMIS compliance
- Respond professionally to guest concerns and housekeeping-related issues
- Report maintenance and safety issues promptly
- Maintain inspection records and follow up on deficiencies
- Participate in departmental meetings and operational projects
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support hotel operations
Key Performance Indicators
- Room inspection pass rates and cleanliness quality
- Guest satisfaction scores related to housekeeping (Medallia / GSS)
- Reduction in re-cleans and guest complaints
- Productivity and efficiency during high-occupancy periods
- Inventory and linen control
- Team attendance, reliability, and adherence to standards
Requirements
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience required; supervisory experience preferred
- Physically capable of performing housekeeping duties (lifting up to 50 lbs / 22 kg)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and push carts for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Professional communication and leadership skills
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Reliable, organized, and willing to lead by example
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety, and chemical handling
- WHMIS Certification required (or willingness to obtain)
The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.
