Data Scientist (MLOps)
Loblaw Technology and Analytics is looking for an experienced, dedicated Data Scientist to join our fast-growing team of Data Scientists, Engineers, Frontend Developers and Designers to build and enhance Loblaw's price optimization platform.
In addition to knowledge of statistics and machine learning, you will bring experience in cloud-based development, engineering best practices and end-to-end product development. You will solve novel problems related to forecasting and optimization using transactional and other retail-relevant data. The team will look to your expertise in building production-ready data science solutions.

What You'll Do:
Collaborate with the business to translate business problems into ML products.
Be a strong individual contributor who can produce working, high-quality code quickly.
Support the organization in adapting best practices and delivery methods.
What You Bring
Experience with time series modelling, forecasting and optimization; ideally in a retail-related context.
Experience with Data Science languages (Python, R, SQL) and software/platforms (SAS, Databricks, Dataiku).
Strong experience in software engineering best practices (e.g. object oriented programming, automated testing, writing ‘clean code’).
Strategies for handling large amounts of data and experience with parallelization (e.g. Spark, Dask).
Good understanding of the ML model lifecycle and experience with productionizing a machine learning application.
Experience building applications on the cloud (e.g. GCP, BigQuery, DataProc).
