WWW Timber Products is looking for a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team and help drive quality, fibre recovery and operational performance across our growing forestry and timber operations. This is a hands-on position for someone who understands coastal BC wood, log quality, scaling, sorting and processing and who takes pride in getting the most value possible from every piece of fibre.
You will work closely with operations, contractors, scalers, equipment operators, log yards, customers and management to ensure that wood is being handled, sorted, processed and marketed to the required specifications. The successful candidate will provide field-level leadership and technical direction while identifying opportunities to improve recovery, sorting accuracy, product quality, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
This is an active role that will involve regular travel to operating sites, log yards, dryland sorts and processing locations throughout the Campbell River and North Island area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop, distribute and communicate manufacturing prescriptions based on targets and requirements developed by the leadership team.
· Monitor, track and report on log and fibre quality from harvest through sorting, processing and delivery.
· Conduct regular quality inspections and audits.
· Work with all personnel throughout the supply chain to identify opportunities to improve value recovery and reduce downgrade, waste and fibre loss.
· Ensure customer specifications are understood and consistently achieved.
· Support accurate measurement, documentation and reporting of quality and production information.
· Communicate quality expectations clearly and professionally.
· Work collaboratively with operations rather than simply identifying problems.
· Help develop practical solutions that improve both quality and productivity.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
· Maintain compliance with applicable legislation, company policies and customer requirements.
· Never compromise safety or environmental standards in pursuit of production or quality targets.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone with strong practical forestry experience and a genuine understanding of wood quality and value.
Required / Preferred Experience

· Strong knowledge of coastal species and BC Coastal log grading and scaling.
· Experience working around logging, log yards, dryland sorts, processors or sawmills.
· Strong understanding of how bucking, sorting and processing decisions affect final value.
· Ability to interpret production and quality data.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
· Valid driver's licence.
WHO YOU ARE
You are someone who:
· Pays attention to the details that affect value and is comfortable challenging decisions when the quality of value isn’t right.
· Can look at a pile of logs and understand what is working, what isn't and where the opportunity is.
· Uses data to support decisions but understands that forestry still requires practical field judgement.
· Takes ownership of problems rather than simply reporting them.
· Wants to help build something rather than simply maintain the status quo.
WHY JOIN WWW TIMBER PRODUCTS?
