The Calgary Jewish Academy is seeking a French teacher for the upcoming school year (2024-2025). The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the French language and culture and be able to deliver French curriculum to students in grades 3-9.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide instruction in French language, literature, and culture to students.
- Create lessons that foster student engagement with challenging and motivating content.
- Build rapport with students and ensure that they know where they stand academically.
- Motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Provide feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and implement differentiated instructional methodologies to meet the individual needs of students.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in student files.
- Prepare lesson plans, individual assessments, and progress reports.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to teach French as a second language.
- Familiarity with instructional and educational technology.
- The ability to differentiate and support a range of diverse learners.
- A strong understanding of formative and summative assessment practices and strategies.
