Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join our team in providing high-quality meal services in a caring environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, serving, and maintaining food safety standards. This role involves working in settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or other healthcare environments. The Food Service Worker will play a vital role in ensuring residents and patients receive nutritious and well-presented meals with excellent customer service.
Duties
- Prepare and serve meals according to menu specifications, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Assist with food handling, storage, and sanitation to meet safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Assist with meal setup, serving, and cleanup during meal times
- Follow food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene compliance
- Support food preparation activities including cooking, assembling meals, and packaging as needed
- Manage time efficiently to ensure timely delivery of meals to residents or patients
- Provide friendly customer service to residents, patients, or staff during meal service
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as necessary
Requirements
- Experience in food industry settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
- Strong understanding of sanitation and cleaning procedures in a kitchen environment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents or patients
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with good time management skills
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting tasks
- Previous experience with food handling, serving, or kitchen operations is desirable
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with health regulations
