Larkin Farms is a family-owned poultry farm and food business located in Crapaud, Prince Edward Island. We raise and process chicken and turkey products and sell directly to consumers, retailers, and restaurants across PEI.
Our business combines agriculture, food production, retail, and direct to consumer sales. This role offers candidates hands on exposure to how a small food business operates from farm to customer.
Position Overview
The Business Operations and Retail Assistant will support day to day operations of the farm retail store while gaining experience in business administration, inventory management, customer service, and marketing. Employee will work closely with the management team and gain insight into the operational and financial aspects of running a food business.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail and Customer Experience
- Assist customers in the farm retail store
- Provide product information and recommendations
- Maintain product displays and merchandising
- Support farmers market preparation and sales
Business Administration
- Assist with order processing and customer invoicing
- Support data entry and record organization
- Help maintain product and pricing databases
- Assist with basic accounting and administrative tasks
Operations and Inventory
- Assist with inventory tracking and product organization
- Support order preparation for wholesale and retail customers
- Help monitor product availability and stock levels
Marketing and Communications
- Assist with social media updates and content creation
- Help document new products and promotions
- Support marketing initiatives for local events and farmers markets
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
