The Gatehouse Associate is primarily focused on safety and security as they monitor traffic coming in and out of the lumber yard. Gatehouse Associates are positive, enthusiastic individuals who go above and beyond to exceed the customers expectations and promote superior service. They have a firm understanding of building supplies and their respective locations within the yard. Gatehouse Associates take pride in their yard and continuously keep their surrounding areas tidy and free from obstructions and hazards. A Gatehouse Associate is often the last person a customer interacts with and it is their responsibility to ensure they leave satisfied!
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work in compliance with laws and regulations, attend and complete all required health and safety training, fix/report all accidents and safety hazards observed. Take every precaution reasonable to ensure personal safety and the safety of others. Firmly understand and maintain company values, policies and procedures.

Welcome customers with prompt, friendly service, assess their needs, and direct them to the proper location after dispatching a Yard Associate to provide further assistance. Customers leaving the yard are politely stopped and orders are inspected in an efficient, thorough manner to verify accuracy.

Answer phones in a polite and timely manner.

Address and resolve lapses in customer service in a timely manner.

Keep up knowledge in building supplies and their respective locations throughout the yard.

Able to create special orders efficiently and effectively

Stay current and aware of current store promotions.

Able to search and find availability of other locations.

Demonstrates superior customer service in both individual and team environments.

Effectively communicate pertinent information and needs to other associates and management.
SKILLS:
