Why is this role important?

The role of the Business Analyst (BA) is to work closely with the project team and the business to facilitate the capture, consolidation and communication of business requirements and other project-related information to the rest of IT. The BA is critical in ensuring that the business requirements are aligned with the business and understood and met by the IT organization. The BA is also responsible for supporting System Integration Testing, leading User Acceptance Testing with the business, and supporting the implementation and change management teams.

  • Business capability requirements elicitation & analysis
  • Business capability roadmap support
  • Work intake capture
  • Business case development including review and confirmation of work intake estimates
  • Support Business Process Group in business process analysis & design
  • Solution assessment & validation
  • Provide input into communications with the business
  • Excellent requirements elicitation, facilitation and interviewing skills
  • Previous experience working on Agile product teams
  • Possess an understanding of technology principles and systems
  • Project experience from requirements elicitation to delivery with vertical focus preferred in Digital Retail and Loyalty
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple stakeholders while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Slack preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills engaging the business and IT actively
  • Ability to comprehend complex concepts
  • Excellent facilitation and interviewing skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience in process design and reengineering an asset
  • Excellent negotiation skills
