Job Description: Pediatric Occupational Therapy Subcontractor for Private Practice
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our private practice as a subcontractor. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and families, providing high-quality occupational therapy services in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a subcontractor, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload, offering individualized therapy interventions to address the unique needs of each child.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify areas of strength and areas of need in children's sensory processing, motor skills, self-care abilities, and functional performance.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic approaches and interventions tailored to each child's needs and preferences.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to children, including individual therapy sessions, group sessions, and consultation services as needed.
- Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, and other members of the child's support team to establish therapeutic goals, monitor progress, and coordinate care across settings.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing records in compliance with regulatory requirements and practice standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and referring professionals to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or questions related to therapy services.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills, share expertise, and contribute to the growth of the practice.
- Adhere to ethical and legal guidelines governing occupational therapy practice, including maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional standards of conduct.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current license or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Alberta
- Experience working with pediatric populations in clinical or private practice settings is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting pediatric assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with children and families.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
- Willingness to work independently as a subcontractor, while also collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Commitment to professional growth, continuing education, and maintaining competency in pediatric occupational therapy practice.
