Duties
DUTIES

  • Verifies, reconciles, researches, and processes transactions within the departmental financial system (SAP).
  • Ensures transactions are in compliance with departmental financial policies, and directives.
  • Provides information and clarification to clients and employees on policies relating to travel and accounts payable.
  • Follows-up on outstanding financial transactions with managers or vendors.
  • Occasionally responds to enquiries received through the Accounts Payable telephone helpline.
  • Other duties inclusive of mail management, working in Excel, and scanning files.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within ESDC in Winnipeg.

Experience:
E1. *Recent experience in processing financial transactions using a computerized financial, accounting or banking system

Education:
EDA1. Two years of post-secondary education, specialized in finance, business administration, accounting or commerce
EDA2. Graduated with a degree from a recognized institution with a specialization in finance, business administration, accounting or commerce.

Experience:
EA1. *Recent work experience with the SAP financial system
EA2. *Recent work experience using VIM (Vendor Invoice Management)
EA3. *Recent work experience in processing accounts payable within the private or public sector
EA4. *Recent experience with Microsoft Excel
EA5. *Recent experience processing travel
EA6. *Recent experience applying travel related policy

A pass mark will be established for each essential qualification. Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications and operational requirements. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be used as a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

A random and/or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

Top-down ranking can be used at any stage of the assessment process where only the top scoring candidates will be invited to the next stage of the assessment. Please note that different pass marks and cut-off scores can be used at various stages of the assessment process. Candidates who attain the pass mark might not be further considered in the process if they do not achieve the cut-off score.
