Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CAD Technician to join our design and engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, schematics, and models using industry-standard CAD software. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects across construction, civil engineering, and architectural disciplines. The CAD Technician will collaborate closely with the fabrication team, sales, and project managers to develop accurate representations of design concepts and ensure project specifications are met efficiently. Candidates should possess strong drafting skills, construction experience, and familiarity with a variety of CAD tools to support our dynamic project portfolio.
Duties
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Sketchup.
- Create accurate construction documents, schematics, and technical illustrations aligned with project requirements.
- Assist in the development of models for visualization and analysis purposes, including 2D animation when applicable.
- Review design documents for accuracy and compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate with frabrication team to translate conceptual designs into precise technical drawings.
- Update existing drawings based on revisions or client feedback while maintaining version control.
- Support project teams by providing drafting expertise during all phases of the design process from initial concept through construction documentation.
- Ensure all CAD work adheres to company standards for quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician or Draftsman in construction, civil engineering, or related fields.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, SolidWorks, and 2D animation is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of schematics and technical drafting principles.
- Familiarity with construction processes and industry standards for documentation.
- Ability to interpret architectural or engineering sketches and convert them into detailed CAD drawings.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary projects involving civil works or infrastructure is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
