Overview
We are seeking a full-time, dedicated Labourer /Installer to work closely with other team members to install, remove and repair bus shelters. Schedule is weekdays, with availability for weekends. The ideal candidate must have experience in the construction field, preferably in the glazing industry, and be willing to train. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and safety on the job site.
Responsibilities
- Install and assemble glass, and metal products at various outdoor locations in the greater Calgary area (occasionally in-shop)
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for various construction tasks, ensuring proper use and maintenance
- Ensure proper functioning of installed units by thoroughly inspecting workmanship and troubleshooting issues
- Work as part of a team to ensure timely completion of projects
- Keep accurate records of all service activities
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times
- Other labour tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Must possess a willingness to learn and to follow instruction
- Proven experience in construction field (glazing industry preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity, with ability to lift products and equipment weighing 50 lbs, unassisted
- Fluent in English to effectively communicate with team members and interact with clients
- Proficient with various hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of standard and metric measures to ensure build accuracy
- Adaptability to meet the changing project needs and variable weather conditions
- Valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years' clean driving history to drive company truck
- Must have reliable transportation to the shop location (no bus routes available)
- **Must supply own CSA approved, steel-toe work boots (min. 6" high). Employer will provide all other PPE as necessary to perform duties
