Dunmac General Contractors Ltd. is looking for people to join our team. We are currently looking for a Site Foreman

As a Site Foreman at Dunmac your responsibilities would be:

  • Work with project team to lead a crew of carpenters and apprentices on various size projects.
  • Determine the method of construction, materials quantities, equipment, work schedule and documentation of hours worked.
  • Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments and sub-contractors.
  • Maintain communication with site supervisor and project team in regards to planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule.
  • Implement & Monitor compliance with company and site safety programs, documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented.
  • Assists Site Supervisor and project team with resolution of outstanding claim items and with warranty.
  • Knowledge of standard construction software and management processes.
  • Work closely with the Site Supervisor and Project manager to ensure success of the project.
  • Supervise renovations and tenant fit-outs

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of construction experience in field supervision in commercial or industrial construction.
  • Hold a valid Journeyman trade certification or equivalent experience in the trade
  • General construction competencies including renovations, demolition and new construction
  • Have the ability to work both in town (Saskatoon) and out of town.
  • Know the impact of change on cost and schedule.

The ability to work out of town is an asset.

Apprentice Carpenters & Journeymen Carpenters perform some or all of the following duties:

Follow and comply with the company safety

  • Follow and comply with the company safety
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build Foundations & Grade Beams, Pouring concrete
  • Installing Framing, Sheeting, Blocking, Trusses
  • Installing Doors, Frames, Hardware
  • Finishing (Millwork, Mouldings, Etc.)
  • General Housekeeping duties.
  • Qualifications:
  • 4 or more years of construction experience in commercial or industrial construction.
  • Understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures and work within a crew accordingly

The ability to work out of town is an asset.
