Duties
- Assist customers in choosing eyewear that best suits their lifestyle, preferences, and prescription requirements
- Take precise measurements for lenses and frames to ensure optimal fit and comfort
- Conduct thorough optical assessments using laboratory experience and knowledge of medical terminology
- Perform lens and frame adjustments to ensure proper fit and function
- Educate patients on lens options, lens coatings, and proper eyewear care to maximize satisfaction
- Manage inventory levels of frames, lenses, and accessories to meet customer demand
- Utilize retail sales techniques to promote additional products or services, contributing to store goals
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or similar platforms
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Valid provincial licensure as an Optician with appropriate certification to dispense eyewear legally
- Proven experience in optical retail sales and customer service excellence
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care and vision correction
- Laboratory experience with lens cutting, edging, and fitting preferred
- Familiarity with optical equipment, including measurement devices and fitting tools
- Experience working with retail management systems and electronic health records.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
