Wilton Sanitation is a family-owned and operated company that has proudly served Grey-Bruce and Simcoe Counties for over 50 years. We are currently looking for a motivated, reliable DZ Sanitation Service Driver to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate a DZ vac truck for septic tank pumping and related services.
- Operate a DZ roll-off truck for the delivery and pickup of waste bins.
- Clean, sanitize, pump, and restock portable restrooms to ensure they meet company cleanliness and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on portable restrooms, including replacing parts and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Load, unload, and transport portable restrooms as required.
- Pump septic tanks, clean filters, complete minor parts installations, and perform other related duties as required.
- Safely operate pumps, hoses, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for servicing and repairs.
- Complete daily driver logs, vehicle inspections, service records, and required paperwork accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained service truck, inside and out.
- Troubleshoot minor vehicle or equipment issues and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Complete scheduled service routes efficiently while communicating with dispatch to ensure all jobs are completed accurately and on time.
- Follow all company safety policies and Ministry of Transportation regulations.
- Provide professional, courteous, and exceptional customer service during every customer interaction.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of work and assist with other sanitation-related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid DZ driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 1 year of commercial truck driving experience preferred.
- Experience operating service trucks or other commercial vehicles is considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and complete minor repairs.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, pumps, and related equipment.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs or more and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Industry experience is an asset; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Schedule
- Full-time, year-round position.
- Some on-call opportunities.
- Weekend work may be available during peak seasons.
