Job Summary
Al-Falah School (AFS), operated by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA)
Canada, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Homeroom Teacher to provide
high-quality education to our students. This role requires an educator who is
committed to fostering both academic excellence and Islamic values. The Homeroom
Teacher will report directly to the Principal of Al-Falah School and will be responsible
for delivering the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum alongside prescribed
Islamic and Arabic Studies programs.
Responsibilities:
● Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with Ontario curriculum
standards.
● Develop clear, well-structured lesson plans with defined learning objectives.
● Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal
assessments, including report cards, progress reports, and grading.
● Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and structured classroom
environment that supports student learning and development.
● Supervise students during designated times, ensuring a safe and disciplined
learning environment.
● Uphold and model the school's moral and ethical standards, guiding students in
character development.
● Actively participate in professional development workshops and training
sessions organized by Al-Falah School.
● Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and administrative meetings
as required.
● Maintain an organized and orderly classroom that fosters student engagement
and learning.
● Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the school administration to support
student success.
● Perform additional teaching and supervisory responsibilities as required by the
school.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferably from a Canadian university).
● Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation is preferred.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills.
● Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with
students, colleagues, and parents.
● Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive and respectful
learning environment.
● Ability to handle confidential information securely and professionally.
● Highly organized and capable of multitasking in a dynamic school setting.
● Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative
team.
● Experience in delivering differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning
needs of students.
● Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is required.
