Duties: Develop and prepare lessons, instruct, assess and grade student achievement in the Marketing courses in the Faculty of Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The marketing courses to be taught will include, but are not limited to, Online Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Digital Marketing. Courses will be taught during two semesters per year, which may include a Summer semester.

Our vision is to have stream-based educational paths related to professional occupations with a focus on current and cutting edge marketing trends and to facilitate the development of students as applied marketing practitioners. The faculty member should possess the requisite experience and expertise to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Marketing Department. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.

Required Qualifications: A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline from an appropriately accredited institution; requisite experience and expertise in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses. The candidate must demonstrate:
  • substantial relevant applied professional experience in marketing;
  • a record of engaging in scholarly activity (
  • professional development (e.g.. a certification from the CMA or relevant professional memberships; and/or affiliations with executive boards/volunteer associations within a marketing capacity; and/or community engagement); competency at working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong focus on teaching and student learning and will be responsive to diverse learning styles, cultural and academic backgrounds. As well, s/he should possess a history of community engagement using various forms of knowledge mobilization.

NOTE: Master Degree in Marketing with outstanding applied professional/business achievement within a marketing field maybe considered with a requirement that the candidate complete a doctoral program in an agreed-upon time period.

Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of excellence in teaching adults and in internationalizing the curriculum. A current member of the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) or a related professional organization. Substantial relevant industry or business experience or expertise within a specified field of marketing (e.g. digital marketing).
