Position Profile
The Development and Stewardship Manager provides strategic leadership for fundraising, donor engagement, and community partnerships to support the organization’s mission and long-term growth. The position is responsible for developing and implementing innovative fundraising strategies, strengthening donor and stakeholder relationships, overseeing stewardship and engagement activities, and driving revenue growth. The Development and Stewardship Manager will build and nurture relationships with current, past and prospective donors and provide meaningful stewardship opportunities to connect donors to the impact of their work.
Role Overview
Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to support organizational goals and targets.

Ownership and accountability in developing the annual fundraising strategy and plan, with budget and revenue goals.

Manage a portfolio of prospective and current donors, including major gifts, corporate partnerships.

Lead the development and management for support, donor information packages and thank you materials.

Lead and align all communication and marketing efforts including social media, that embraces the fundraising strategy.

Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and researching potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits.

Plan and execute a social media strategy to support fundraising goals.

Prepare funding proposals, grant applications, and donor communications.

Oversee the coordination and delivery of fundraising activities and events.

Identify opportunities for third-party fundraising and outreach opportunities.

Serve as an ambassador by attending events in the community when requested to share the organization’s mission impact and encourage involvement.

Cultivate and build meaningful relationships with individuals, groups, communities, and stakeholders resulting in an increase of financial resources.

Monitor, report on and evaluate fundraising goals.

Recruit, support, and work with volunteers and community representatives involved in fundraising activities.

Work with staff to leverage technology and social media where possible to increase awareness and improve fundraising.

Stays current on fundraising standards, policies, best practices, and development trends by updating job knowledge, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional association activities.

Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships.

All other duties as required.
Qualifications

Post-secondary education in fundraising, non-profit management, communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising in not-for-profit environments.

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is considered an asset.

Demonstrated experience in developing, managing and achieving fundraising targets, campaign budgets and donor pipelines.

Experience in sales and marketing considered an asset.

Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in individual giving, legacy/planned giving, and donor stewardship.

Strong networking and proven donor relationship building skills with individuals, groups, corporations and communities.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically, maintain confidentiality, exercise diplomacy, tact and good judgement.

Exceptional ability in social media fundraising and marketing.
-
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and donor database/CRM systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
-
A valid Ontario’s full G Driver’s License is required, with a clean driver’s abstract. A $2,000,000 minimum liability car insurance coverage is also mandatory.

Completion of a successful Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check will be a condition of employment.
