Key responsibilities include forecasting, ordering, and stocking parts, maintaining high inventory accuracy, negotiating with suppliers, and collaborating with service departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Ordering, receiving, and organizing parts to ensure availability for service technicians and retail customers, while minimizing overstock.
- Financial Performance: Pricing parts to maintain profitability and setting department budgets
- Customer & Vendor Relations: Assisting customers with inquiries, resolving issues, and negotiating with vendors to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery.
- Operational Efficiency: Utilizing inventory management systems to track, stock, and maintain accuracy in parts records.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in parts department operations (often 1–5+ years).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of automotive or relevant industry parts, technical manuals, and inventory control systems.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to use Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and computer software.
