Position Summary
Bravocon Inc. is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labour Technician to support our telecommunications construction and field operations throughout Ontario.
The General Labour Technician works alongside our civil, fibre, aerial, and construction crews to assist with the installation, maintenance, and restoration of telecommunications infrastructure. This is a hands-on field position suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating around construction equipment, and being part of a fast-paced crew.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist telecommunications construction crews with daily field activities.
* Support underground fibre and conduit installations.
* Assist with excavation, trenching, directional drilling and hydrovac operations.
* Perform hand digging and expose utilities where required.
* Assist with placement of conduit, fibre cable, vaults, pedestals and other telecommunications infrastructure.
* Load, unload and organize tools, equipment and construction materials.
* Set up and maintain construction work zones, including cones, signage and traffic-control equipment.
* Assist with site preparation and restoration, including soil, gravel, asphalt, concrete and sod work.
* Support fibre, aerial and civil technicians as required.
* Maintain a clean and organized job site.
* Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
* Follow project drawings, instructions and direction provided by the Crew Lead or Foreman.
* Complete required daily paperwork and field documentation.
* Follow Bravocon safety policies and all applicable customer and regulatory requirements.
* Perform other construction and telecommunications duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Previous construction, telecommunications, landscaping, civil or general labour experience is an asset.
* Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors.
* Ability to lift approximately 50–75 lbs.
* Comfortable working around heavy equipment and active construction sites.
* Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
* Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
* Valid Ontario driver’s licence and reliable transportation preferred.
* Ability to travel to different project locations when required.
* Flexible availability for occasional overtime, weekends or out-of-town projects.
Preferred Certifications
The following are considered assets:
* WHMIS
* Working at Heights
* First Aid/CPR
* Traffic Control / Book 7
* Confined Space Awareness
* Utility or telecommunications construction experience
* Mini-excavator, skid steer or other equipment experience
Bravocon can provide or coordinate required training depending on the position and project requirements.
Working Conditions
This position is primarily field-based and involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Employees may work around excavation equipment, hydrovacs, directional drills, bucket trucks and active roadways.
The position requires regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, digging and other physical construction activities.
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
